Mp3 Streaming : Configuring XMMS or Netscape for Linux

Before you configure, make sure XMMS is installed with one of these two commands: "which xmms" or "locate xmms".

If both commands do not return the path "/usr/bin/xmms", reinstall XMMS.

If you're still having problems, follow the directions below:

Step 1. Click Edit on the Netscape toolbar.

Step 2. Select Preferences at the bottom of the pull-down.

Step 3. In the Category window on the left, click Navigator, then Applications.

Step 4. Click the New button and fill in the following:

Set MIMEType: audio/x-mpegurl
Set suffix: m3u
Set application: xmms %s

You do not need to reboot your computer after making these changes.
